Closeness, trust and sensitivity are very important in the nursing and health care sector. When nursing staff and doctors, patients and relatives from different cultures meet, cultural differences can especially be a source of friction and misunderstandings.

Open Cultures trains employees of the health industry to improve their communication skills through new, culture oriented perspectives. Employees learn how to reflect on their cultural behaviour and recognise inherent value systems. Important intercultural aspects, such as how to build trust, scheduling, distance and closeness, religious values and hierarchies, are conveyed using examples, exercises and short talks.
